I was in the middle of finishing up my In Memoriam post dedicated to Chuck Brown when I learned of the news of Donna Summer’s death today after a long battle against cancer. #FuckCancer
“Bad Girls” is the first song I remember hearing from Donna Summer as a small kid in the late 1970s during the waning days of Disco. I’ve always been a fan of her work. Her voice was incredible and she was an undeniable Black Beauty. Sisterhood of The Big Hair. The Queen of Disco.
I wish her a Peaceful Journey. She will forever be missed.
RIP Donna Summer. I didn’t even know she had cancer. :-(
